NUTEAIW ENGAGES IN EMPOWERING PROGRAM ON THE 1955 LABOR ACT AND WORKER'S SOCIAL SECURITY ACT (DATED: SEPTEMBER 20 & 21, 2023)
On the 20th and 21st of September 2023,
NUTEAIW proudly participated in a course on the Employment Act 1955 and Social Security Act organized by Subhills Training & Consultancy. The course, approved by HRDCorp under SBL-Khas, was attended by 35 union members from various companies. The event unfolded on September 20th and 21st, 2023, at AR 11, Level 1, WYNDHAM, providing a conducive environment for knowledge sharing.
The course aimed to provide a detailed briefing on the responsibilities and rights of workers under the legal provisions, with a focus on the recent amendments to the Employment Act 1955 that came into effect on January 1, 2023.
Participants were instilled with a spirit of cooperation with employers and adherence to company regulations and policies. The goal was to foster harmony within the company for mutual benefit.
The legal amendments touched on aspects of benefits and operational procedures that affect workers. Awareness of these implications was emphasized during the course.
The course featured experienced speakers such as Mr. Subramanian Thannimalai from Subhills Training & Consultancy, Mr. Mohd Sazuan Abdul Hadi from PERKESO, Mr. Zulkefli Bin Abdullah from the Department of Skill Development, Mr. Gopal Kishnam as a union representative, and Mr. Gunaseelan as a representative from MTUC.
Participants were equipped with an in-depth understanding of legal amendments and the latest developments in employee benefit schemes introduced by PERKESO.
